Abstract Sustainable development concepts at the higher education level require that undergraduates from higher learning
institutions receive adequate sustainable and environmental education. The environmental education fosters skills
and habits that students can use throughout their lives to understand and act on sustainability topics. In the recent
past, most of education institutions around the world have incorporated environmental issues in their curricula.
In order to satisfy the specific needs of sustainable development implementations, higher learning institutions
need to use new technologies to facilitate environmental education. The flexible learning approach used at
Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade is one of these valuable tools. This paper introduces
some of the key concepts of learning and investigates how students can be effectively used in higher environmental
education for sustainable development. | Apstrakt Koncepti održivog razvoja na nivou visokoškolskog obrazovanja zahtevaju da studenti na visokoškolskim ustanovama steknu održivo i ekološko obrazovanje. Ekološko obrazovanje podstice umeca i navike koje ce studenti moci da koriste citavog života u situacijama kad treba da shvate i da delaju u vezi sa problemima odr'ivosti. Vecina obrazovnih institucija u svetu od nedavno je u svoje nastavne programe uvrstila i pitanja ocuvanja životne sredine. Da bi zadovoljile posebne potrebe primene održivog razvoja, visokoškolske ustanove koriste nove tehnologije u nastavi ekološkog obrazovanja. Jedan od vrednih alata koji se koristi na Fakultetu organizacionih nauka Univerziteta u Baogradu jeste i fleksibilni pristup u ucenju. U ovom radu predstavljeno je nekoliko kljucnih koncepata ucenja i istražuje se u kojoj meri se studenti mogu efektivno iskoristiti u oblasti ekološkog obrazovanja za održivi razvoj, u visokoškolskim institucijama.
