Abstract
The development of computer science in the contemporary sense at the University of Belgrade, and especially among Belgrade mathematicians, is firmly connected to the procurement of the first reliable computer system in 1968 at the University, the IBM 360/44 system, as well as the conception of the development of programming as conceived by professor Nedeljko Parezanović.
